Big connected movement. Grand temps lié is done by raising the legs 90 degrees. Fifth position R foot front, facing croisé. Demi-plié on the L leg and développé the R leg to croisé devant, raising the arms from bras bas to the gateway. Piqué on the R demi-pointe en attitude croisée en l'air. Coupé dessous on the L foot, bringing the R foot to retiré devant, body en face, and lowering the L arm down in front of the diaphragm. Développé the R leg to the ballet second position, opening the L arm to the second position. Step on the R demi-pointe, raising the L leg into the second position en l'air. Demi-ple on the R leg and bring the L foot to retiré devant, or close the L foot to the fifth position croise and demi-ple, lowering the arms to bras bas. Can be repeat the ballet movement to the other side. Grand temps lié may also be done en arrière.

How To Ballet Step By Step  Grand Temps Lie


Step 1

5th position foot front, shoulder forward, arms in preparatory position

Step 2

Simultaneously execute demi-plié, developing croisé forward 90 degrees, raising arms to 1st position

Step 3

Step on to demi-pointe (posé en avant) en attitude croisée en l'air.

Step 4

Execute coupé on to foot demi-plie, foot in pointing sur le cou-de-pied in front of the ankle, simultaneously lowering arm to the level of diaphragm

Step 5

Develop leg to 2nd position, simultaneously opening arm to side

Step 7

Step on to demi-pointe raising the leg to 2nd position en l'air 90 degrees

Step 8

Close in 5th position demi-plié foot front, arms returning to the preparatory position

Step on to demi-pointe (posé en avant) en attitude croisée en l'air.
